The New England Patriots have suspended defensive end Michael Bennett for one week due to conduct detrimental to the team. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport was the first to report the news.
Bennett reportedly had a philosophical argument with his position coach, Bret Bielema. He will now miss the game against the Jets on Monday Night Football.
The Patriots acquired Bennett this offseason. In his first year with the team, Bennett had 2.5 sacks and three tackles for loss.
For his career, Bennett has played 11 seasons for four different teams. He has totaled 65.5 sacks and 121 tackles for loss.
