Miami Dolphins Week 6 Game Preview: Jacksonville Jaguars

The Dolphins will take on the Jacksonville Jaguars at a neutral site, as the two teams will be playing in London this Week. The game will start at 9:30 am EST on CBS.  Miami is favored by a field goal in this game according to Caesar’s sports book. This is an exciting week for the Dolphins as it seems they will have their starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa back in the lineup this week. This should give the Dolphins a great chance to win as they are facing another struggling team. This article will give a preview of the Miami Dolphins Week 6 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Tua Tagovailoa should spark the Dolphins offense this week

Tua Tagovailoa won the Dolphins their first game of the season against the Patriots. A week later, problems started happening on the offensive line and Tagovailoa got sacked two times in the same drive, which ultimately injured him for a few games. This is a new beginning for the Dolphins as they now have him back in the lineup. Tagovailoa should do a better job of escaping pressure from opposing defenses, as he is quick on his feet. He also gets the ball out fast, which will avoid a lot of hits from opposing defenses. He has a great chance to put the Dolphins back in the win column this week. The Dolphins quarterback has 215 yards on the season with one touchdown and one interception.

The Dolphins need to get the ball in the hands of Jaylen Waddle

Miami needs Jaylen Waddle to spark this receiving core during this game as DeVante Parker will be out for the second week in a row. Waddle has 227 receiving yards on the year and one touchdown. He is still looking for his first 100 yard receiving day and this game will be a good opportunity for him to do that, as Jacksonville ranks in the bottom half of passing yards allowed.

Waddle is great in the short passing game. Waddle can make a lot of defenders miss, as he is elusive and has insane speed. The Dolphins can also take shots with Waddle down the field as he has great route running ability and can find ways to come down the ball.

The Dolphins still need to find a way to get the running game going

Myles Gaskin only had five carries for 25 yards against the Buccaneers last week. They have utilized him a lot in the passing attack, which he has been stellar in. He had 74 yards and two touchdowns last week catching the ball. NFL defenses at some point are going find a way to lock him down and make the Dolphins run the ball. Their offense is too one-dimensional passing the ball, which makes it hard on the Dolphins’ receivers because opposing defenses are going to be ready for it.

Miami cannot quit on their rushing attack, as Gaskins has the ability to be a pretty great running back in the NFL. This will also help them in using playing action or even in the option attack. This will put defenses on their heels and open up some opportunities down the field.

The Dolphins Defense

The Defense should have an opportunity to force some turnovers this week. Trevor Lawrence still trying to find his groove in the NFL. Lawrence has more interceptions than touchdowns this season as NFL defenses have been confusing Lawrence. He also needs to learn that he cannot make the same throws in the NFL as he did in college. With that being said, this gives Xavien Howard and the Dolphins secondary a great opportunity to capitalize on Lawrence’s mistakes throwing the ball and give the Dolphins some more opportunities to score points.  The Dolphins also need to pressure Trevor Lawrence in the pocket. This will rattle Lawrence even more.
