Miami signed Fitzpatrick this offseason and he battled for the job with Josh Rosen, who they traded for during the 2019 NFL Draft.
Fitzpatrick, 36, is entering his 15th season in the NFL. He has spent time with eight different teams. In his career, the former Harvard Crimson has thrown for 29,357 yards, 190 touchdowns and 148 interceptions on 60.1 percent completion.
Last season, Fitzpatrick started eight games for the Buccaneers and led the league in yards per attempt at 9.6, as he aired it out in Tampa Bay.
Rosen will learn behind the veteran quarterback now before getting his shot in Miami, as the team rebuilds.
