Miami Dolphins Game Preview Week 10

Miami Dolphins Game Preview

The Dolphins have a tough test on Thursday night, as they will face Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens. Both teams are coming off wins in their previous games. The Dolphins won at home against the Houston Texans and Baltimore won at home in an overtime thriller against the Minnesota Vikings. These teams are having completely different seasons. The Dolphins (2-7) have struggled all year while the Ravens (6-2) are a playoff team and Super Bowl contenders. Baltimore is favored by a little more than a touchdown, as the line is seven and a half. This article will give a preview of the Miami Dolphins game against the Baltimore Ravens.

The Dolphins need to be better at running the ball

Tua Tagovailoa is listed as questionable, which means there is a possibility that Jacoby Brissett will play another game. Brissett struggled to pass the ball last Sunday against the Texans and he will be facing a much better defense. Therefore, it is imperative that the running backs have a big role in this game and give the team some more production. The offensive line really needs to step up and create some holes for Myles  Gaskin to run through. He could not get anything going against the Texans. If the Dolphins can get production in terms of yardage in the running game then it will take less stress off of the Miami quarterbacks. This will also give the offense a more balanced attack. Miami needs to have at least over 100 yards rushing as a team for them to have any chance against the Ravens.

Miami needs to contain Lamar Jackson

This is easier said than done. Jackson is on a level all on his own when it comes to being a dual-threat quarterback. He has a great arm and can throw the ball with accuracy. Furthermore, Jackson is one of the fastest players in the NFL and can outrun most players on the field. He has 12 career 100-yard rushing games, which is crazy for a quarterback.

With that being said, the Dolphins need to focus on keeping Jackson contained in the pocket. Yes, they will get burned a few times, but they need to keep his rushing attack to a minimum. Make Jackson win the game throwing the ball. The Dolphins have two great cornerbacks in Byron Jones and Xavien Howard who are more than capable of locking down the Baltimore receivers. The Dolphins also need to bring pressure on Jackson and make him uncomfortable in the pocket. A few sacks would go a long way in keeping Miami in this game.

The receiving core for Miami will need to step once again

Jaylen Waddle has been as good as advertised this year. He has come in clutch with being a reliable receiver. He can get open with his excellent route running ability and speed. Waddle is also great after the catch as he is elusive and can juke defenders out. He has not found ways to score too much though as he only has three touchdowns on the season. That will come with more experience in the NFL. Waddle will need to be a big part of the Dolphins’ offense against Baltimore.

Mike Gesicki is another guy that needs to have a big game against the Ravens. Gesicki is the Dolphins leading receiver this year, as he has 529 receiving yards. He also had an impressive game against the Texans as he made some key plays to help the Dolphins win.

Prediction

The upset is not likely in this game. The Dolphins have been lethargic on offense this year and they have not shown signs that this is going to change anytime soon. The Ravens have one of the best quarterbacks in the league and the team can put points on the board. However, if Tagovailoa does start this game it would give them a significantly higher chance at winning. It is predicted that the Ravens will win by a couple of touchdowns.

Score Prediction: Ravens 35-Dolphins 21

This concludes this Miami Dolphins Game preview for Week 10 against the Baltimore Ravens.
