The Miami Dolphins have reached a one-year deal with quarterback Jacoby Brissett according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Brissett is a five-year veteran who spent time with the Patriots and Colts in his career. He most notably filled in for Tom Brady due to the “Deflate Gate” scandal and for Andrew Luck through his injuries and retirement. The NC State product has passed for 6,459 yards, 31 touchdowns and 13 interceptions on 59.6 percent completion in his career.
The Dolphins have Tua Tagovailoa at quarterback, so Brissett will likely serve as a backup and mentor to him. If things go awry, he is fully capable of stepping in and starting.
