The Miami Dolphins have acquired tight end Darren Waller, who is coming out of retirement, according to Tom Pelissero. To acquire his rights from the Giants, the Dolphins are sending a 2026 sixth-round pick and a 2027 conditional seventh-round pick. He will sign a one-year, $5 million deal.
Waller, 32, didn’t play last season after retiring to pursue his music career. He has played eight NFL seasons, with 350 catches for 4,124 yards and 20 touchdowns.
Miami traded Jonnu Smith to the Steelers yesterday, which opened up the tight end spot for the team. They also traded Jalen Ramsey to the Steelers and brought back safety Minkah Fitzpatrick in return.
