The Miami Dolphins have signed a journeyman veteran linebacker to help with the playoff push as they try to retake the number one overall seed. Melvin Ingram has taken his talents to South Beach on what is presumably a one-year contract.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.
A former top-20 overall selection in the 2012 NFL Draft, Ingram actually began his career in San Diego before the Chargers moved to Los Angeles. He played there for nine seasons before bouncing around to three other teams, including the Dolphins.
Ingram signed with the Dolphins on May 18, 2022. He played in all 17 games last season, racking up 22 combined tackles, including six sacks. He also had one pass defense, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries and a defensive touchdown.
