Arizona Cardinals tight end Maxx Williams is returning to the team. He has reportedly signed a one-year contract with the Cardinals. The talented blocker will re-join Zach Ertz in the tight end room.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Wednesday.
The #AZCardinals are bringing back TE Maxx Williams, per me and @MikeGarafolo. He gets a 1-year deal.

Williams was originally a Baltimore Raven after being drafted by them in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He played for four seasons in the Ravens system before signing a one-year deal with the Cardinals in 2019. He was then given a two-year extension, which ended in 2021.
His 2021 season ended in Week 5, when he suffered a torn ACL. Williams was also injured in 2020, when he played in only nine games. In his last full season, he had 15 receptions for 202 yards and one touchdown. Through 2020, he had never scored more than one touchdown in a season.
