New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram’s season is likely over. He suffered an MCL tear in Monday night’s loss against the Buccaneers, which will knock him out anywhere from 4-6 weeks without surgery. Technically, he might be able to return for the playoffs, but it is unlikely the Saints will reach them.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Wednesday.
This is Ingram’s 11th NFL season, at age 32. He played the first eight years of his career with the Saints before joining the Ravens for two years and the Houston Texans for just seven games. He was traded back to New Orleans in 2021.
Ingram has played in just 10 games this season, starting three of them. On 62 rushes, he’s collected 233 yards and just one touchdown. He’s also caught 16 of 18 targets thrown his way, for an extra 68 yards but no scores.
