New information has been made public in the ongoing Lamar Jackson contract saga. Apparently, Jackson asked to be traded away from the Baltimore Ravens on March 2. No such trade request has been honored, and Jackson still finds himself on the non-exclusive franchise tag.
Jackson himself took to Twitter to clear up rumors and announce that he requested a trade.
As stated above, the Ravens placed the non-exclusive franchise tag on Jackson. This tag means that any team can make Jackson a contract offer, but Baltimore has the chance to either match that offer or let him go.
In his young career, Jackson has made two Pro Bowls, a First Team All-Pro and won the 2019 NFL MVP award. He’s missed five games in each of the past two seasons. 2022-2023’s missed games were especially controversial, due to Jackson missing the end of the season and a playoff game.
