The San Francisco 49ers have dealt linebacker Kwon Alexander to the New Orleans Saints according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
New Orleans will send linebacker Kiko Alonso and a conditional fifth round pick to San Francisco to complete the deal.
Alexander, 26, played the first four seasons of his career for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He has spent the last season and a half with the 49ers and helped them reach a Super Bowl last year. Alexander has 444 total tackles, 8.5 sacks, eight forced fumbles and seven interceptions in his career.
The Saints have had struggles defensively this season. Alexander will lineup with Alex Anzalone and Demario Davis, which gives them a solid linebacker core.
