KeVontae Turpin, who scored the Cowboys’ only touchdown in Week 5’s blowout loss to the 49ers, is feared to have an injury that will keep him out for a while. While he is still waiting on an MRI, the injury to Turpin is believed to be a high-ankle sprain, which usually sidelines players for 4-5 weeks.
Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Monday.
Turpin went undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft had an interesting path to the the biggest football stage in the world. He started in the Indoor Football league, then bounced around to the Fan Controlled Football League, the EFL (in Europe) and then finally the USFL.
He played in all 17 games in the 2022 season, mainly as a kickoff and punt returner. Turpin grabbed his first NFL receiving touchdown on Sunday Night Football, but has also rushed for a touchdown this season.
