Chicago has a new face in their front office. The Bears have hired former Big Ten Commissioner, Kevin Warren, to be their new team president and CEO. This will be his sixth job in the NFL, after taking a four-year hiatus to try his hand in the college ranks.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Thursday.
Warren began his front office career with the St. Louis Rams in 1997, holding that position until the end of the 1999 season. He received the title of Super Bowl Champion as “the Greatest Show on Turf” defeated the Tennessee Titans.
He would then go on to be named Vice President of Football Administration with the Rams, before holding myriad titles in the front offices of the NFC North, including a 10-year stint as President of Legal affairs with the Vikings. Warren saw only two teams win the Big Ten Conference (in football) during his time as commissioner.
