The Cardinals have had issues keeping running backs healthy, so they have acquired another one. Arizona will send a 2020 sixth-round pick that can become a fifth-round pick to the Miami Dolphins for Drake according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Miami has been looking to trade Drake since the season started, as they look to rebuild. Getting extra draft picks has been their strategy since the start of the season and they have traded several players away for more selections.
David Johnson has an ankle injury that has limited him over the last few weeks. Chase Edmunds injured his hamstring on Sunday against the Saints. Both injuries have put the Cardinals in the market for a running back.
Drake, 25, has rushed for 1,532 yards in his four seasons with the Dolphins. He had just 174 rushing yards so far this year.
