Baltimore is signing a familiar face after losing running back J.K. Dobbins for the entire season due to an Achilles injury. Kenyan Drake, who played with the Ravens for 16 games last season is signing to the practice squad.
The NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported the news via Twitter on Wednesday.
The Dolphins drafted Drake out of Alabama in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft. After three-plus years there and almost two with the Cardinals, he bounced around the league on one-year deals for two seasons.
In his 16 games played last year with Baltimore (five starts), Drake rushed 93 times for 442 yards and three touchdowns, adding 15 catches for 70 more yards and another score. He was on a one-year deal, so he entered free agency at the end of the year. He found his way onto the Colts’ practice squad for a few weeks before being released, allowing the Ravens to sign him.
