The Steelers might have to prepare for Thursday Night Football against the Titans without their quarterback. Kenny Pickett left Sunday’s game with an injury to his ribs, and now he is officially questionable to start on a short week.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Monday.
Pickett was chosen 20th overall in the 2022 NFL Draft, and managed to be picked by the team that shares a field with his college team. He’s gone 11-8 in his 19 NFL starts, thrown 12 touchdowns to 13 interceptions and has fumbled five times.
In seven games so far this season, Pickett has completed 122 of 200 passes for a completion percentage of 61 percent. He’s thrown for only five touchdowns of the season to four interceptions, and has been sacked 17 times. Former number two overall pick Mitch Trubisky would start in his stead if Pickett can’t go on Thursday.
