Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt will miss time after suffering a calf injury. He was carted off of the field after the injury occurred.
In Sunday’s game against the undefeated Arizona Cardinals, Hunt went down on the field despite not being contacted. He immediately grabbed his lower calf/upper ankle area, causing speculation that he had a season-ending Achilles injury. The Browns’ staff stated that he did, indeed, avoid an Achilles injury.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Monday.
In addition, rookie linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah will also miss around 4-6 weeks with an ankle injury. Starting running back Nick Chubb was also out with a calf injury on Sunday and his status is still up in the air.
Quarterback Baker Mayfield dislocated his soldier in the game, as well. This is the second injury Mayfield has suffered of this type this season. He did not miss a play, but it is unclear whether he will have to miss time going forward.
To add insult to injuries, the Browns have a short week ahead of them. Their next game is Thursday Night Football at home against the Broncos.
