On Thursday Night Football, Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert hurt his ribs in a game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Head coach Brandon Staley has said that Herbert has a fracture to his rib cartilage and will be day to day.
Herbert played through the injury and even led a touchdown drive, while noticeably hurting. The Chargers lost the game 27-24 and now have a 1-1 record. Chase Daniel, the backup quarterback, was in for a play before Herbert returned. If Herbert does need to miss time, Daniel will be the one to replace him.
After playing the Thursday Night Game, the Chargers and Herbert will have extra time to recover before playing the Jaguars at home next Sunday.
