The New England Patriots have decided to cut
Julian Edelman
after he failed a physical with the team according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Edelman, 34, was trying to recover from a knee injury that cut his 2020 season short, but was unable to do so. It is now not clear whether Edelman will be able to play in the NFL again.
Without Edelman, the Patriots will be looking to get more offensive help for Cam Newton and a possible rookie quarterback added to the roster in the 2021 NFL Draft.
The Kent State product spent 11 seasons with the Patriots and won three Super Bowls. He was named MVP of Super Bowl LIII.
