Indianapolis has decided not to trade Jonathan Taylor, per his request. Instead of being traded, Taylor has been added to the PUP (or physically unable to perform) list, which necessitates him missing at least four games.
The NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.
Taylor is placed on the PUP list with a reported ankle injury. He requested a trade a few weeks ago, with the Colts letting him go seek it out himself. Reportedly, no other team met the Indianapolis’ perceived value on a trade.
He played in only 11 games last season, rushing for less than 1,000 yards for the first time in his young career, albeit behind a below-average offensive line. In 2021, Taylor rushed for over 1,800 yards and 18 touchdowns, becoming a First Team All-Pro and a Pro Bowler.
