Bengals running back and 2018 AFC rushing yards leader Joe Mixon has signed a four-year extension with Cincinnati. The contract is reportedly worth $48 million over those four years.
The NFL’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday afternoon.
The #Bengals are giving RB Joe Mixon a 4-year deal worth $48M, source said. A nice payday for their feature back, who is now under contract for 5 years.

Mixon finished last season with 1,137 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 278 attempts. He also added 287 more yards and three touchdowns through the air. His career highs in yards and touchdowns came in 2018 with 1,168 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on the ground.
He will have number one overall pick Joe Burrow handing him the ball in 2020. Considering his prowess in the passing game, Burrow will likely use Mixon as a safety valve often as well.
