As second-string quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson remains in concussion protocol and third-stringer P.J. Walker isn’t up to snuff for the team, the Browns will have a new quarterback on Sunday. Joe Flacco, who just joined the team is in line to start against the Rams.
PFF’s Ari Meirov reported the news via Twitter on Wednesday.
Ahead of Week 12, the Browns lost starting quarterback Deshaun Watson to a season-ending injury after he had already missed some time with the same issue. Thompson-Robinson and Walker had gotten spot starts during the time Watson missed.
Flacco is a former Super Bowl Champion and Super Bowl MVP with Cleveland’s division rival Baltimore Ravens. He last played in 2022, going 1-3 in his four starts with the Jets that season. In his three years with the Jets franchise, he went 1-8 in nine starts.
