History repeats itself from Joe Burrow’s rookie year as he is now officially out for the remainder of the season with an injury. He reportedly suffered a torn ligament on Thursday Night Football, which necessitated he leave the game.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Friday.
After throwing a touchdown pass on Thursday, Burrow was seen grabbing his hand and in visible pain. He, then, left the game and cameras captured him trying to throw a football on the sidelines. While trying to get power behind it, he winced and dropped the ball, then went back to the locker room.
Burrow began the season on the injury report, as he suffered a calf strain in training camp. He played through the injury, and had just returned to full health over the past few weeks. With Burrow out for the rest of the season, Bengals fans will see Jake Browning suit up at quarterback.
