Boston fans finally have their answer on Jaylen Brown, after a few months of speculation. Brown has officially signed the richest NBA contract ever, for $304 million over five years. All the money on his new deal is fully guaranteed.
The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.
Brown has been a vital part of the Celtics’ current success, next to Jayson Tatum. He was drafted third overall out of California in the 2016 NBA Draft. He’s made two All-Star teams (2021 and 2023), and an All-NBA Second team in 2023.
In 67 games during the 2022-2023 season, Brown scored 17.9 points per game on 49.1 percent shooting. His shooting percentage, along with his rebounds per game (6.9), assists per game (3.5) and minutes per game (35.9) were all career highs.
