Arguably the best strong safety in the league, Jamal Adams of the New York Jets, is in line for an extension. Adams is a free agent after the 2021 season and is in store for a big payday. The Jets have not made much of an effort to extend Adams. After hinting about it for weeks Adams has requested a trade according to Rich Cimini of ESPN.

Since getting drafted by the Jets sixth overall in 2017, Adams has been a Two Time Pro Bowler (2018, 2019). He was also named a Second Team All-Pro in 2018 and was a First Team All-Pro this past season.
Adams has been second on the team in tackles the past two seasons. In 2019, Adams was second on the team in sacks (6.5) and had the team’s only defensive touchdown. He was also tied for the team lead in tackles for loss (10), forced fumbles (2) and quarterback hits (13).
On top of all of that, Adams is the leader of the team and face of the franchise. Adams has been a team captain for the past two seasons.
An hour after this news broke a list of teams Jamal Adams would like to be traded to has been reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
