Browns wide receiver Jakeem Grant will likely miss the entire 2022-2023 season. Grant suffered an Achilles injury during training camp that will land him on the injured reserve list, and in all probability, will sideline him barring a shockingly quick recovery.
The NFL’s official Twitter account tweeted out the news after NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Wednesday.
Grant was drafted in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft with the 166th pick by the Miami Dolphins. He played in Miami for six years before spending half of the 2021 season with the Chicago Bears. He leveraged his 2021 season into a three-year deal with the Cleveland Browns.
Known more as a returner than a receiver, Grant returned 26 punts and 23 kicks in 15 games during the 2021 season. He had one touchdown, scored on a punt return; one of four of his seven-year career. Grant also has two kick return touchdowns to his name.
