For the third time in four NFL seasons, the Ravens will be without their top running back for a significant amount of time. J.K. Dobbins suffered a leg injury which turned out to be a torn Achilles tendon in the first half of the first game of 2023 action.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter after Dobbins was taken off the field. The torn Achilles was later officially confirmed.
This is now the third year in a row where Dobbins will miss significant time with injury. In his second season, he tore his ACL and missed every game. Last year, he suffered a different knee injury and played in just eight games.
Dobbins rushed eight times for 22 yards and a touchdown yesterday before being helped out of the stadium, unable to put any weight on his leg. He also caught two balls on three targets for an added 15 yards.
