Newly acquired Chargers cornerback, J.C. Jackson, has suffered a season-ending knee injury. Tests confirmed that Jackson has a ruptured patellar tendon in his knee. He will officially play only five games in his first season as a Charger.
The NFL’s official Twitter account tweeted out the news on Monday afternoon.
Jackson was a standout cornerback in New England after going undrafted in 2018. He played in 13 games during his rookie season as a Patriot and earned a three-year deal in May of 2018. During his time there he made a Second Team All-Pro and a Pro Bowl, and also won a Super Bowl.
In March of 2022, Jackson leveraged his good Patriots stint into a five-year, $82.5 million deal. He has zero interceptions, two pass deflections and 15 tackles in five games this season. In his previous two seasons he had nine and eight interceptions, respectively.
