Hoyer, 34, has been a solid backup and has starting experience. He has thrown for 9,902 yards, 48 touchdowns and 30 interceptions on 59.3 percent completion. The veteran has spent time with the Patriots, Cardinals, Browns, Texans, Bears and 49ers.
Andrew Luck retiring made it necessary to get more quarterback depth and now the Colts have that.
