Just three days after being waived by the Jets, veteran safety Adrian Amos has a new team. The Houston Texans, who are making a playoff push, have signed Amos for the remainder of the season. His first game will be against his former team.
PFF’s Ari Meirov reported the news via Twitter on Wednesday.
Amos was a fifth round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears. He spent four seasons there before signing a big four-year contract with their biggest rivals, the Green Bay Packers. His contract with the Packers ran its course, leading him to a one-year deal with the Jets.
So far this season, Amos has played in 11 games with the Jets. He’s totaled one pass defense and 23 combined tackles. He’s scored only one defensive touchdown in his career (back in 2017), despite grabbing 10 interceptions.
