The Houston Texans have re-signed defensive end Derek Barnett to a one-year, $5 million deal according to Ian Rapoport.
Barnett, 28, is an eight-year vet who played for the Eagles and Texans. In his career, he has 195 total tackles and 29 sacks. Last season for the Texans, he tallied 26 tackles and five sacks.
The Texans have Will Anderson and Danielle Hunter as starting edge rushers, but Barnett will provide depth and a rotational player at the position.
