The Atlanta Falcons have made a trade to further sure up the back end of their defense. Jeff Okudah, has been traded to Atlanta for a fifth round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. This is a low return on investment for a player that was taken so highly in his own draft.
The NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.
Okudah was taken with the third overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Ohio State University. During his time in college, he was selected to the First Team All-Big Ten in 2019. He forewent his senior year to enter the NFL.
In his NFL career so far, Okudah has had 124 total tackles, two interceptions, one forced fumble and 10 pass deflections. He’s also scored a defensive touchdown. In 2023, he played in 15 games, collecting 73 tackles and one pick.
