The Atlanta Falcons have signed a new nose tackle. Eddie Goldman, formerly of the Bears, has reportedly agreed to a one-year deal with the Falcons. He was waived by the Bears in March of 2022, allowing him to sign as a free agent this offseason.
PFF’s Ari Meirov reported the news via Twitter on Wednesday afternoon.
Goldman was drafted in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears. Despite being a member of the team for eight seasons, he played in only seven of them due to his opt-out during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
In his career, most of which has been played at nose tackle, he has racked up 13 total sacks. His biggest sack count came during his rookie season, when he had 4.5. In 2021-2022, Goldman had 22 total tackles (14 solo tackles) and just 0.5 sacks.
