The Atlanta Falcons are signing kicker Younghoe Koo to a huge extension. He will be signing on with Atlanta on a five-year, $24.25 million contract, with $11.5 million fully guaranteed. Considering the state of NFL kicking, the Falcons smartly re-signs one of the NFL’s best for years to come.
The NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday afternoon.

Koo would’ve been a restricted free agent. Instead, Atlanta locks up one of the NFL’s most accurate kickers. 💰

Koo has been a Falcon since being signed in 2019. He began his career with the Los Angeles Chargers, where he was the starting kicker for four weeks before being replaced. He, then, went to the Atlanta Legends of the AAF, and the New England Patriots’ practice squad.
In his 40 games as a Falcon, Koo has missed only seven field goals, and just four extra points. On field goals of 50-plus yards, he is 13 of 14, and has never missed on field goals of 20-plus yards. He hit 100 percent of his extra point attempts in 2021.
