The Atlanta Falcons and Bijan Robinson have agreed to a three-year extension worth up to $75 million that makes him the highest-paid running back in NFL history, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport.
Robinson’s deal includes $51 million in guaranteed money, the most ever for a running back, as well as $37 million at signing.
Robinson received his record-breaking extension after one of the best seasons of his NFL career, earning First-Team All-Pro honors and his second Pro Bowl selection. In 17 games last season, Robinson had 287 carries for 1,478 yards and seven rushing touchdowns. He also had the best receiving season of his career, catching 79 passes for 820 yards and four receiving touchdowns.
After a season with nearly 2,300 all-purpose yards and 11 total touchdowns, it’s not hard to see how Robinson earned his new deal and why the Falcons value him so highly. Atlanta clearly sees him as the face of the franchise, and new head coach Kevin Stefanski should be thrilled to work with his star running back and find new ways to get the ball in his hands.
