Early Eagles Season Predictions: Part six

Publish Date: July 3, 2021

This is the last edition of the Early Eagles Seasons Predictions series. This edition will cover the last two games on the Eagles schedule, which will be against the Washington Football Team and against the Dallas Cowboys. The Eagles are 8-7 according to what has been predicted in the other parts of this series. The game against Dallas will be tough for the Eagles, while the other game against Washington will be winnable. It could also provide hope in winning the NFC East if the division is as terrible as it was last year. This is the Early Eagles Season Predictions: Part Six.

Check out part onepart twopart threepart four and part five here!

Eagles vs The Washington Football Team, 1/2, 1 PM

The Eagles have a game against the Washington Football Team for the second time in three weeks. This time the game is in Washington, which gives the home field advantage to the Football Team. Washington seems to be a team that might struggle this coming year, as they don’t have a franchise quarterback. The Washington Football Team has Ryan Fitzpatrick and Taylor Heinicke as their possible quarterback starters for 2021. They do have Terry McLaurin within their receiving core, who is always a threat for explosive plays.

The Eagles will just need to play smart football and make some plays to score some points. By this point in the season, we will also know how DeVonta Smith is as an NFL player. If he ends up being as good as he is hyped up to be, then Washington could have their hands full. The Eagles will also need to get play action going to confuse Washington’s defense and to get down field. This is a tough game to predict since the Eagles have faced them twice in a short period of time, but this one is going to go to Washington.

Prediction: Washington Wins: 24-20

Cowboys vs Eagles, 1/9, 1 PM

The Eagles have a tough last game against the Dallas Cowboys at home. Dak Prescott will be looking to make the playoffs, if they have not already clinched it by this game. With that being said, this game could be full of second and third stringers or this could be a big game in the division if there is still drama in the NFC East at this point. If the starters do play, Prescott and Ezekiel Elliot are going to be the difference makers. Prescott has a lot of receiving weapons such CeeDee Lamb and Amari Cooper. The Cowboys also have a pretty solid defense with Demarcus Laurence leading the charge.

The Eagles will have to hope that the division is as bad as last year, for this game to be meaningful to them. If it is a meaningful game, then this would be one of the Eagles biggest games of the season. They have the home field advantage with the rowdy Philadelphia crowd. Hurts will have to be a big part of the Eagles winning. He will need to prevent turnovers and be on point throwing the ball. Miles Sanders and Boston Scott will need to be productive in the ground game. If one of them surpasses 100 yards on the ground, then the Eagles have a great chance at winning. This game, unfortunately, will not play in the Eagles favor. The Cowboys should win this game and also be in playoff contention by the end of it.

Prediction: Cowboys Win: 24-10

Eagles Final Record: 8-9

This concludes Early Eagles Season Predictions: Part Six.
