Earl Thomas released by the Baltimore Ravens

Earl Thomas

According to the Baltimore Ravens twitter account the team has terminated Earl Thomas’ contract with them.

This news comes one day after Thomas was sent home from training camp after getting into a physical altercation with fellow safety Chuck Clark.

This isn’t the first time Thomas has gotten into trouble due to personal issues since joining the Ravens. Thomas was arrested after an altercation involving his wife where she held him at gunpoint.

Thomas had only spent one year in Baltimore, But prior to that he spent nine seasons with the Seattle Seahawks.

Since getting drafted in the first round by Seattle in 2010, Thomas was a three time First Team All-Pro, two time Second Team All-Pro, a Super Bowl Champion, a member of the 2010’s All-Decade Team, and a seven time Pro Bowler. Thomas was even a Pro Bowler last season.

In 15 games Thomas had 49 tackles, two interceptions, four passes defended, and a forced fumble.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, a few teams to watch out for to sign Thomas are the San Fransisco 49ers and Houston Texans. Also the Dallas Cowboys are a team to look out for since they have recently cleared cap space and Thomas was extremely interested in playing for the Cowboys after his last season in Seattle.
