The Miami Dolphins made a surprising announcement on Thursday. Apparently, the team is willing and ready to trade fifth-year tight end Mike Gesicki ahead of the November 1 trade deadline. He has fallen down the depth chart in head coach Mike McDaniels’ new offense.
NFL reporter Michael Balko tweeted the news out on Thursday.
Gesicki was originally drafted out of Penn State University in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins. He has played his entire career there, collecting 214 receptions for 2,425 yards and 16 touchdowns.
So far this year, Gesicki has started only one games out of the six he’s played. He has only 15 receptions for 170 yards, but has three receiving touchdowns so far, which is a respectable number given his snap count.
