The Detroit Lions have decided to fire head coach Matt Patricia and general manager Bob Quinn. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport was the first to report the news.
Patricia was hired heading into the 2018 season and has posted a 13-29-1 record with the team. He formerly was the defensive coordinator of the Patriots, where he coached in that role from 2012-2017 and helped New England have a top defense.
The Lions hired Bob Quinn in 2016. Quinn was formerly with the Patriots as well and was responsible for hiring Patricia.
Offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell will be the interim coach.
