The Detroit Lions have agreed to a two-year, $21 million deal with cornerback Desmond Trufant according to Jordan Schultz.
For Trufant, $14 million will be guaranteed.
Earlier this week, Trufant was released by the Falcons, the only team he played for in his seven-year career. Trufant, 29, is a one-time Pro Bowler who joined the Falcons as a rookie in 2013. He had seven passes defended and four interceptions in nine games for the team last season. He has registered 79 passes defended and 13 interceptions in his career.
The Lions needed cornerback help after not agreeing to a long-term deal with Darius Slay, who is currently being shopped by the team for a potential trade.
