Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson is now sidelined for the remainder of the season. A shoulder issue that has kept Watson out of games a few times already this year is now undergoing surgery, which will end his season.
The official Twitter account of the Browns made the news official on Wednesday.
Watson has played in six games this season, being held out of the others due to this same shoulder injury that is undergoing surgery. He’s completed 105 passes on 171 attempts for 1,115 yards, seven touchdowns and four interceptions.
These 2023 numbers are strikingly similar to his 2022 stats, in which he also played only six games (albeit due to suspension imposed by the league). Last season, he threw for 1,102 yards, seven scores and five interceptions. Early reports seem like he won’t be held out of next season, too.
