Browns tight end David Njoku has suffered an ankle injury. He is officially listed as week-to-week with a high ankle sprain, of which the NFL has seen a rash of this season. Njoku’s injury should take anywhere from 2-5 weeks to heal.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Monday.
Njoku has been one of the Browns’ most reliable players in recent years. After being taken in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of the University of Miami, Njoku has remained through multiple coach and quarterback changes.
In his career, he has played 72 games, collecting 2,172 yards and 16 touchdowns on 182 receptions. So far this year, with Jacoby Brissett at quarterback, he has 418 yards and one touchdown on 34 receptions, playing in all seven games.
