Chicago Bears running back David Montgomery will miss significant time due to a knee injury. The knee sprain he suffered in Week 4 against the Detroit Lions will sideline Montgomery for around 4-5 weeks according to early reports.
ESPN’s Dan Graziano reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.
Through four weeks of the 2021 season, David Montgomery has rushed 69 times for 309 yards and three touchdowns. Usually a big factor in the Bears’ passing game, he as not been utilized as much in that phase this year, probably due to Chicago’s quarterback controversies. He has only been targeted nine times, catching six for 49 yards and no scores.
The Bears are now getting thin at running back. Tarik Cohen began the year on the PUP list, Damien Williams is questionable with a bruise and now Montgomery will go down for a month or more. Stay tuned to TGH for more injury news and updates.
