Green Bay Packers left tackle David Bakhtiari is officially out on Sunday. Bakhtiari just had an appendectomy, which will keep him off the field against the Chicago Bears. It is unclear whether he will be able to play after their bye in Week 14.
The Green Bay Packers tweeted out the news via their official Twitter account.
Bakhtiari was drafted in the fourth round of the 2013 NFL Draft, and quickly became one of the best offensive tackles in the entire NFL. He’s earned two First Team All-Pro selections, three Second Team All-Pro nods and three Pro Bowl appearances.
He’s run into some pretty horrific injury luck since the 2020 season, however. In the first seven years of Bakhtiari’s career, he missed a total of just six games. In December of 2020, he tore his ACL and has missed 24 games out of an available 46.
