Five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Davante Adams is reportedly being traded to the Raiders. The deal sends Adams to the Raiders while the Packers will get at least one first round pick, and potentially more “prime” picks and some players.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Thursday.
The five-time Pro Bowler and two-time First Team All-Pro selection played and started in 16 games last season. He had 123 receptions, which was a career high, to go along with 11 touchdowns. In 2020, he had 18 touchdowns, which led the entire NFL.
Adams was franchise tagged by the Packers in March. Reports surfaced that he was unwilling to play under the franchise tag, but the two sides had until mid-July to come to a long-term deal. He also allegedly turned down $23 million per year, wanting to be the highest paid receiver in the NFL. The Raiders will now likely sign him to the contract he desires.
