Star cornerback Darius Slay has had his trade request granted, as he is heading to the Philadelphia Eagles according to Ian Rapoport. The Lions will get a third and fifth-round pick in return.
A splash for Philly: The #Eagles are trading for #Lions star CB Darius Slay, sources say, finishing off talks that first began around the trade deadline. As part of the deal, Slay receives a new contract that puts him among the highest-paid at his position.

Slay, 29, will get a new deal that makes him one of the highest-paid corners in football. He made three-pro bowls in his first seven seasons, but the Lions did not want to meet his contract demands. Due to that, Slay requested a trade.
He had 13 passes defended and two interceptions last season. In his career, he has 104 passes defended and 19 interceptions.
Philadelphia has had issues at the cornerback position for the last few years, as they have dealt with injuries. The Eagles could make a run at another Super Bowl with an elite corner like Slay on the roster.
