Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder has reportedly agreed to a deal that will result in the selling of the franchise. A group including Josh Harris, Mitchell Rales and Earvin “Magic” Johnson will buy the Commanders for $6 billion.
Sportico reported the news via Twitter on Thursday afternoon.
Harris was born in Maryland and spent his early life there and in Washington D.C. He is an American business man that has stakes in the Philadelphia 76ers, New Jersey Devils and the Premiere League’s Crystal Palace FC.
Snyder, until the 2023 offseason began, was not expected to sell the team despite many controversies and not generally being liked by his NFL peers and Commanders fans. The deal has (again, reportedly) been agreed to in principle and may become official in the coming weeks.
