McCoy is a 10-year vet, who spent the first nine seasons of his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before joining the Panthers last season. He had five sacks and seven tackles for loss last season in Carolina. For his career, McCoy has 59.5 sacks and 86 tackles for loss.
The Cowboys have lost plenty of defensive linemen in free agency, including Maliek Collins and Robert Quinn, necessitating the signing of McCoy.
