The Dallas Cowboys have already signed another cornerback to help mitigate the loss of Jourdan Lewis. Former Falcon and Texan Kendall Sheffield has been inked to the Cowboys’ practice squad following the Lewis injury.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.
Sheffield entered the NFL in 2019 as a fourth round selection of the Atlanta Falcons. He spent three seasons there before being waived by Atlanta and claimed by Houston. He spent only four months in the Texans system before being injured and waived.
In 38 career games for Sheffield, he’s grabbed 101 combined tackles (72 solo), six pass deflections and two forced fumbles. He has not yet recorded an interception in the NFL. His best year was in 2020, with the Falcons, when he had 51 tackles and three pass deflections.
