The Dallas Cowboys are placing young tight end Peyton Hendershot on the injured reserve list ahead of Week 6. While Hendershot finishes his stint on IR, Sean McKeon will be elevated from the practice squad to the active roster.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the news via Twitter on Thursday.
Hendershot went undrafted out of the University of Indiana in the 2022 NFL Draft. He signed as an undrafted free agent that season, making the 53-man roster out of training camp and scored his first NFL touchdown in Week 7 of his rookie year.
He’s played in three games so far this year, but hasn’t made a start yet. On two targets from Dak Prescott, Hendershot has one catch for three yards. In all 17 games last season, he had 103 yards and two touchdowns last year.
